The Connecticut Department of Transportation (CTDOT) has advertised and is requesting bids for Project No. 0094-0261 which involves the rehabilitation of the Northbound Gold Star Bridge (No. 03819) carrying I-95 Northbound over the Thames River, Providence and Worcester Railroad, New England Central Railroad and local roads in the cities of New London and Groton.
Work under this contract consists of replacing the deck and appurtenances supported by the deck, installation of new steel girders in west approach spans and new stringers, steel repairs in all spans, bearing replacement, concrete substructure repairs, pin replacement at pin and hanger assemblies and installation of a polyester polymer concrete overlay. The estimated cost is greater than $500 million.
