Scope of Work: The Authority wishes to pre-qualify firms to submit bids for Contract No. JFK-164.020, entitled “John F. Kennedy International Airport Rehabilitation of Runway 13L-31R and Associated Taxiways”. The work generally consists of rehabilitation of the existing Runway 13L-31R that is approximately 10,000 feet in length and 150 feet wide with a 40-foot wide shoulder and 40-foot wide strip of erosion pavement on each side. Approximately four to six inches will be milled and overlaid from the existing keel section of the runway and two to three inches will be milled and overlaid outside of the keel. The keel section is the center 80 feet of the runway divided equally left and right of centerline. Rehabilitation of Runway 13L-31R will include replacement of electrical and drainage infrastructure, upgrade of crossing taxiways fillets, replacement of signs and markings, realignment of a portion of Taxiway U, and construction of a new high-speed taxiway. A small section of pavement between Runway 13L-31R and Taxiway YA will also be constructed.
Qualification information is to be submitted by 2:00 pm on January 25, 2018 and it is anticipated that bid documents will be available to pre-qualified bidders on or about March 2018. In order to pre-qualify for the Contract JFK-164.020, all participating firms must execute and submit “Agreement on Terms of Discussion” and “Contractors Qualification Statement” with their RTQ submittal packages.
