Landmark Program Delivers Opportunities and Sustainable Infrastructure

The Miami-Dade Water and Sewer Department (WASD) is currently implementing system wide upgrades throughout their wastewater infrastructure with the Ocean Outfall Legislation (OOL) Program. The following are upcoming construction projects at the South District Wastewater Treatment Plant, 8950 SW 232nd Street Miami, Florida.

Opportunities for Contractors:

OOL Program Construction Package ST-2A:  Headworks 3, Oxygenation Trains 9 & 10, and Substation 57/58 – Contract No. S-931

Bid Advertisement - Late January 2021, Estimated Construction Cost - $90,000,000

The scope of work includes, but is not limited to, construction of proposed headworks building (Headworks 3) with an attached odor control building, construction of two new oxygenation trains (Oxygenation Trains 9 and 10), construction of a new electrical substation and electrical building. The project also includes a large diameter pipelines and connection to an existing 72-inch force main.

OOL Program Construction Package ST-1B:  Step Feed and Oxygenation Trains Rehabilitation – Contract No. S-935

Bid Advertisement – Mid-February 2021, Estimated Construction Cost - $78,000,000

The scope of work includes, but is not limited to, rehabilitation of the existing oxygenation trains including mechanical mixer replacement, electrical improvements, and structural repairs, construction of new electrical buildings, and improvements to the potable water, fire water, and plant water distribution systems; retrofitting of existing oxygenation trains with step feed capability; site work and construction of yard piping.
